The way Sheryl Crow

called on the phone,

to offer dough

for the rights to my poem,

It shook my heart

from a bitter mood

and saved some part

of a life I rued.

(This isn't true, of course; it's an homage.

Here's the original poem,

by Robert Frost:

Dust of Snow The way a crow Shook down on me The dust of snow From a hemlock tree Has given my heart A change of mood And saved some part Of a day I had rued.)
